About Amy (she/her)

Photo of Amy's head and shoulders. She is a middle-aged White woman, facing the viewer and smiling. She has medium length blonde and grey hair, and blue eyes. She is wearing pink eyeglasses, a bright yellow blouse, and a grey cardigan sweater.

I’m a lifelong Californian, happily transplanted to Indiana in 2018. I provide therapy services to individuals throughout the State of Indiana.

My practice is non-pathologizing, affirms LGBTQ, genderqueer, non-binary, and sexually diverse identities, and provides body affirming care aligned with the principles of Health at Every Size. I am committed to resisting racism, ableism, fatphobia and other forms of oppression that harm people in marginalized identities. You deserve care that is culturally responsive and deeply respectful.

Therapy Approach

***Video services only. In-person services at my Plainfield, IN office have been paused until further notice.***

In all of our work together, I trust that:

  • Problems are separate from the people experiencing them.
  • Problems are developed, perpetuated, and changed within social, political, and cultural contexts.
  • You are the expert on your own life.
  • Your wisdom and knowledge have been hard won, and are the foundation of our work together.
  • My role is consultant and collaborator, sometimes guide, and always learner.
  • Together, we can create greater freedom for you to choose your preferred life, even in the face of problems.

In technical terms, I practice person-centered therapy from a narrative therapy worldview, informed by trauma and resilience research and intersectional feminism.
